Sitemaps
To use the tried and true home building analogy, your sitemap is the blue print for your interactive project. It provides a visual representation of the content organization and how different sections interact together.
A properly created sitemap can confirm the direction the project is heading; validate assumptions about scope and complexity; establish the depth of navigation; and provide a direction on the type of visual design required. Additionally, through proper effort, a sitemap can establish a sectional naming convention that is carried over into wireframes, content development, design and QA testing.
